I
I actually found my old journals from the late 80s. It was a particularly busy time for me, I had gone back to school for an MA and it was a long journey as I worked full time and took classes at night.
One important fact was that I lived in Richmond, VA, but the school was in DC. I took a bus to DC sometime twice a week in order to get to the classes. It was an incredible adventure for me.
So I kept a journal. Not sure how I had the time; it was therapeutic I guess. It was also entertaining.
Anyway, I discuss quite a few things that I hear young women talking about today: Kids, work, relationships, fears, joys the whole nine yards.
I am going to treat this a conversation between my 30-year-old self and my 71 year old self. Just to reflect on the decisions I made, the paths I ended up on, the struggles and the joys along the way.
I'm calling it Between 30 and Me It's a fun project pulling out short poems and shorts essays about aging and commenting when necessary or letting the work speak for itself.
I'm looking forward to it.

The second Memoir is a project that looks at events from two different perspectives. You'll find it interesting. I'll share more about it later.
